Raku is a multi-paradigm language in the Perl family with gradual typing, signatures, junctions, lazy sequences, grammars, Unicode-aware text processing, and concurrency primitives. It was formerly known as Perl 6 but is a distinct language with its own specification and ecosystem.
CompileBytes runs Raku with the hosted Rakudo Star 2026.06 runtime in an isolated sandbox. Core language features and bundled modules are available; arbitrary ecosystem modules cannot be installed, outbound networking is disabled, and files do not persist between runs. The editor uses Perl highlighting as the closest available Monaco grammar, so some Raku syntax may be coloured imperfectly.
main.raku is the entry point for each run.
Use the Input panel to pipe standard input to your program when it needs data.
Run sends your code to a fresh hosted runtime and streams the result into the output panel.
